Traditional lime mortar can be used to build with & point brickwork , stonework  etc ..

Lime mortar can come in many forms & has so many uses.

Flush pointing is a common style , but can look unique with the aggregate used in the mortar mix.

Tuck pointing is a highly skilled style, very fine joints are created to give a decorative look to the brickwork.

Dublin area.

Brick repairs & Repointing

This recent project in Portobello Dublin, consisted of raking out the old cement pointing & repointing

in traditional lime mortar pointing.

Great care was taken when raking out the old cement as it was rock hard. Specialist equipment was used to cut out & rake out the cement to avoid

damaging the brickwork especially around the arch area. Repointed with lime mortar in a flush pointing style.

Conservation works

This recent project near Laytown Co. Meath for Sonairte. Works consisted of brick repairs & lime

pointing. Missing brickwork on the fascade was repaired with salvaged original stock bricks .

The brick repairs matched the existing brickwork perfectly & blended in nicely .

 A traditional lime mix was created to match existing mortar . The repointing matched well  with a flush pointing style to match existing.
